The tempest has failed to appear on a calm morning at Carnoustie.

As the leaders go out there are 21 players under par and they are making birdies for fun.

The Met Office is so confused they are reporting 5-10 and 13-17mph winds. From what I've seen out on the course conditions should remain good for scoring.

Remember the front nine is considerably easier than the back nine so expect the scoring to slow down considerably later in the day.
