When you are watching television coverage of the final round this afternoon you unwittingly have a small team of New Zealanders to thank for the graphic reconstructions of the holes.
Jasmine Trekovski is a member of that team and you might have seen her on your screens - she is the one with the little backpack who runs up to the drives and starts tapping away at a handheld computer.
In the wet conditions the plastic, shell-shaped backpacks make Jasmine and her colleagues look like a family of turtles who have waddled in from the sea.
But their efforts are essential for getting the correct yardages and keeping the commentators and viewers up to date with the players' progress.
Jasmine comes from Dunedin and is a teacher who works part-time for Virtual Eye, also based in New Zealand.
Carnoustie is her second major after she worked at Oakmont last month and not surprisingly she is enjoying the opportunity to travel the world to watch her favourite game.
Jasmine and her fellow ball-spotters are merely working at the end of the reconstruction process, though.
In the weeks running up to the event Virtual Eye photograph the course from the air before their artists work in collaboration with the BBC's Ken Brown to ensure that the images are as realistic as possible.
And after all that technical skill, professional know-how and Jasmine's leg work, hopefully we, the viewers, reap the benefit.
