Colin Montgomerie (74-147): "I'm disappointed obviously. I didn't play well today but I battled well and played the last five holes in one under par which is as good as it gets. It wasn't easy. I played well yesterday but didn't putt well."
Tiger Woods (74-143): "It was basically a lack of commitment on the first tee. It was such a poor shot - the commitment wasn't there and I didn't back off. I hit a lot of poor shots, but I hung in there. The course is playing difficult and with the bad weather forecast tomorrow you've just got to grind it out and try to stay away from big numbers."
Sergio Garcia (71-136): "It was not an easy day. I made a couple of stupid mistakes with three putts on the fourth and the tee shot on the 11th but recovered on the par fives. I didn't play as well as yesterday but I was quite consistent."
KJ Choi (69-138): "Back in '99 my shots were weak in the wind. When I played with Paul (Lawrie) I learned a lot from him as I saw how he used the ball and the wind to work for him. I think it was a good lesson for me. Coming into this week I knew how to use the wind to my advantage. I didn't think I'd be in this spot going into the weekend. But I did feel a lot more comfortable because I came here back in '99. Knowing this course I felt more comfortable and that's why I think I'm playing better this year."
Miguel Angel Jimenez (70-139): "I was hitting the ball very well from the tee for the first two days. I left a couple of chances for birdie on the golf course. All the birdies I make, they're almost given. I hope through the weekend to do that."
Jim Furyk (70-140): "You pick and choose your spots when to be aggressive and when to be defensive, considering pin placements and where you put your drives. You have to assess each situation. You want to play aggressively but you want to play intelligently, and sometimes the intelligent play is to be a little more conservative. But there are other times when you have good opportunities and you have to take advantage of them."
Lee Westwood (70-141): "With the weather and the challenges on the last few holes, almost anyone who makes the cut comes into contention. I played very well on the way in. There are some long holes out there and there's no break from the 12th in. We were not going for the shallow end of the golf club very much!"
Padraig Harrington (73-142): "It's a disappointing finish, but it's easy to take six down the last, so it's not out of the blue. There are still 36 holes to go and I probably would have taken level par before the start. I have just got to play my own game - there is a lot of golf left in this tournament. Maybe I will be more aggressive being level par."
Rory McIlroy (76-144): "I was happy enough with two over. It is not that bad - 76 does not reflect how I hit it today. I just wanted to go out there and try my best, play golf and enjoy it, and that is what I did today. I didn't get upset with bad shots. It is fantastic just to play the weekend. "I wasn't too nervous today. I was probably more pumped up than nervous - I hit a two iron 290 yards off the first."
Luke Donald (76-146): "I came back well, so I'm disappointed with the finish and this score is not what I wanted. But I have to believe I can shoot a couple of 66s."
Phil Mickelson (77-148): "There were some under-par scores out there but I just didn't putt well enough to have one of them. They are very good greens and I have seen a lot of guys make putts - I just haven't been one of them. I just look up and they are never on the line I intend. I'm just not starting them on line at the right speed. I thought I was playing a lot better than this. I was starting to play some pretty good golf last week - I don't know why I have putted these greens so poorly."
Nick Faldo (73-152): "That helps for next week. I made so many strategy mistakes yesterday it was a joke, but I played a little bit smarter today and playing better cheers you up. That's the great thing about this game."
